How to Get Rid of Odor on an Arm Cast
Breaking your arm is not only painful, but it requires you to endure weeks or months wearing an arm cast, which can lead to the cast giving off an odor. This happens because you are not able to clean your arm easily and the oils on your skin seep into the cast. It can also happen if you get the cast wet. Try to prevent the odor from beginning by avoiding sweating while you are wearing the cast and by not allowing water to get on the cast. Remove the smell by cleaning the cast.Things You'll Need
- Hair dryer
- Baking soda
- Toothbrush
Instructions

1
Turn your hair dryer on to low heat.
-
2
Point the hair dryer at the cast and dry it completely. A wet cast can smell bad, and the longer it remains wet the more likely it is to give off an odor.
-
3
Sprinkle baking soda on the outside of the cast.
-
4
Brush the baking soda into the cast with a toothbrush. Let the baking soda sit for several hours. As it does, it will remove surface odors from the cast. If the odors are very strong, however, it may not remove them completely.
-
5
Brush the dried baking soda off of the cast and into the trash.
