How to Make an Eating Disorder Awareness Bracelet
National Eating Disorder Awareness Week takes place in February. It's a week of spreading awareness and information about the concerns of the various conditions that fall under the term. Whether you or someone you know has suffered from an eating disorder, you can show your support by creating eating disorder awareness bracelets. This craft is easy enough for beginners, making it possible for anyone to show support for this cause.Things You'll Need

1
Snip a length of wire from the roll measuring 10 inches long. A standard bracelet, once complete, is 7 inches in circumference. The extra couple of inches is used to tie findings and customize the bracelet while you make it.
-
2
Tie one end of the wire in a double knot around a small ring finding. Squeeze a dot of jewelry glue over the double knot and allow it to dry. This end serves as one of the connecting ends of the bracelet. The ring finding attaches to a lobster claw or other type of jewelry clasp.
-
3
Slide an inch of silver-colored seed beads down the length of the wire, starting at the untied end. These beads are tiny, so you will probably use about 20 or more to create an inch-long row.
-
4
Slide a single periwinkle-colored bead down the length of wire to rest atop the row of seed beads. Periwinkle is the color associated with eating disorder awareness. Use eye-catching glass or crystal beads in this color, measuring about 1/2 inch in diameter. This assures that they stand out against the seed beads.
-
5
Slide another inch of silver-colored seed beads down the wire length to rest atop the periwinkle bead. Repeat Step 4 after doing this, and then repeat Step 5 to almost fill the wire. This creates an alternate pattern of silver-colored seed beads with splashes of periwinkle that symbolize the awareness of eating disorders.
-
6
Slide the remaining length of wire through the looped end of a clasp finding, making sure to select a finding that fits the ring on the other side of the bracelet. Slide the clasp down until it rests atop the final row of beads. Secure the wire into a double knot.
-
7
Squeeze a dot of glue over the double knot and allow it to dry. Snip any loose wires that poke from either side of the bracelet with the scissors.
