1
Remove the filter cap. Insert the white ultra fine filter. Insert the gray pollen filter. Replace the filter cap.
-
2
Sit the REMstar on a flat surface in a position that is away from any heating or cooling equipment such as an air vent, radiator or air conditioner. The REMstar must have unobstructed air flow, so you should avoid placing it in a location in which the unit touches curtains or bedding.
-
3
Connect the socket end of the power supply to the AC inlet on the back of the REMstar. Plug the pronged end into an outlet. Once the REMstar is plugged in, the screen will display the system version number, the total hours of use and the total number of therapy hours. Before setting up the device, make sure the air flow is turned off.
-
4
Press and hold the ramp button until you hear a beep. The number of nights the unit has been used for therapy sessions that lasted for 4 or more hours will appear. If this is the first time using the unit, the display should read "0." This display screen is for reference only. Press the user button on the right to go to the next setting: air pressure relief.
-
5
Press the ramp or humidifier button to adjust the air pressure relief. The setting of "1" provides the user with a small amount of pressure relief. The setting of "2" provides the user with a medium amount of pressure relief. The setting of "3" provides the user with the most pressure relief. Press the user button on the right to go to the next setting: ramp starting pressure.
-
6
Press the ramp or humidifier button to adjust the ramp starting pressure. As the user sleeps, the amount of pressure increases and decreases to allow for more peaceful slumber. This fluctuation in pressure is known as "ramp." Press the user button on the right to go to the next setting: disconnect alert.
-
7
Press the ramp or humidifier button to enable the disconnect alert. If a continuous air leak is detected, the REMstar will emit a loud tone to warn the user. The setting of "1" means the alert is enabled. The setting of "0" means the alert is disabled. Press the user button on the right to go to the next setting: button lights.
-
8
Press the ramp or humidifier button to turn on the button light. The button light illuminates the rear of the buttons and makes them visible in the dark. The setting of "1" means the buttons are illuminated. The setting of "0" turns off the light. Press the user button on the right to go to the next setting: FOSQ test.
-
9
Press the right user button to skip the FOSQ test. Patients with sleeping disorders take the FOSQ test, which is a quality-of-life test. This feature is optional and is only available if you install a SmartCard. Setup is now complete.
