How to Tent Termites While Pregnant
Fumigating your home to remove termites does not require many additional considerations while you are pregnant; all residents are asked to leave the home while it is tented and may not return until the house is cleared for re-entry. However, preparing for the tenting process requires planning and packing that may be a feat for some pregnant women. After fumigation it takes 16 to 30 hours for the chemicals to clear the air, notes the Los Angeles County Agricultural Commissioner. Plan on staying out of your home at least until the chemicals are gone.Instructions

1
Find a location for you and your pets to stay during the fumigation process. Remove all plants from the home.
-
2
Bag all food items in special bags provided by the fumigation company. Include everything in your refrigerator and freezer, medicines, vitamins, and pet food and treats; unopened glass, plastic or metal containers do not need to be bagged. Discard all ice in your ice maker and turn it off.

3
Take mattresses with waterproof covers out of your home or remove the covers. Pack your valuables and place them in a safe or take them with you to keep them secure.
-
4
Cut lawn plants away from your house so the tent can be draped over it properly.

5
Contact your neighbors about the fumigation before vacating your home. Ask them to keep an eye on your home and to use caution when traveling near your home during fumigation.
