How to Donate Female Human Eggs in Florida

The decision to donate your eggs to a couple incapable of having children of their own is a big one. While the financial reward is substantial, the process of donating takes several months, sometimes longer and involves invasive surgery. You will have to inject fertility drugs into yourself for several weeks and you will have to make lifestyle changes, such as no longer having that glass of wine with dinner or sexual intercourse with your partner. However, the rewards for donating your eggs are substantial. Aside from the financial reward, you will have given to an unfortunate couple the gift of life, the gift of a child that they so desperately want but cannot have without your eggs.

Instructions

    • 1

Locate a fertility center in Florida. Fertility centers are located all over the state, such as the Palm Beach Fertility Center and the Center for Reproductive Medicine, both of which can refer you to a donor closer to your home if you ask.

    • 2

Determine whether or not you meet the qualifications for becoming a Florida egg donor. Fertility clinics in Florida differ slightly in their requirements for donors, but each has an age requirement and none accept donors who are, or were, smokers. Check with your chosen fertility clinic for their specific qualifications.

    • 3

Complete a donor application form. Pick one up at your fertility clinic or fill out the online application form on the clinic website. Your application is reviewed by the clinic and, if accepted, you will be contacted by the clinic to set up an appointment to have a complete physical exam.

    • 4

Discuss the donor process with the doctors at the fertility clinic during your physical examination. You will have to undergo psychological screening before the clinic will match you with a couple in need of eggs. If you are married, your spouse will be required to undergo psychological screening, as well.

    • 5

Follow all of the instructions given to you by the fertility clinic. You will have to take birth control pills to match your menstrual cycle with that of the recipient woman, which can take several months. You will then be taught to inject fertility drugs into yourself for a period of several weeks.

    • 6

Attend all of your ultrasound appointments while you are taking fertility drugs. These ultrasounds are used to monitor your eggs and determine the date your eggs will be retrieved. You will need to arrange for transportation to and from the retrieval, as you will be heavily medicated and unable to drive.

Accept your compensation, which varies from company to company but averages several thousand dollars.
