What pill can terminate early pregnancy?

The morning-after pill, also known as emergency contraception, is a pill that can be taken to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex or in case of a contraceptive failure. It is most effective when taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex, but can be effective up to 120 hours after unprotected sex.

The morning-after pill contains the hormone levonorgestrel, which works by preventing ovulation and fertilisation of the egg. It also thickens cervical mucus, which makes it more difficult for sperm to reach the egg.

The morning-after pill is not a termination pill and does not work if you are already pregnant. If you are concerned that you may be pregnant, you should take a pregnancy test.
