Is withdrawal a safe practice of birth control?
Withdrawal, also known as the pull-out method, is not a 100% effective method of birth control. It relies on the person withdrawing their penis from the vagina before ejaculation occurs, which can be difficult to do consistently and correctly. Even if done correctly, withdrawal does not provide protection against sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Therefore, it is not recommended as a primary method of birth control.
