Are women beyond a particular age more likely to give birth baby with cystic fibrosis?

Cystic fibrosis is an autosomal recessive genetic disorder, which means that both parents must carry the defective gene in order for a child to be affected. The likelihood of having a child with cystic fibrosis is not directly related to the age of the mother. However, it's worth noting that with advancing maternal age, the risk of having a child with certain chromosomal abnormalities (such as Down syndrome) slightly increases. But this is not specifically related to cystic fibrosis.
