Can your period come if pregnant?
In a typical pregnancy, you won't have a period. A pregnancy test looks for the presence of a hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). This hormone is made by the placenta after a fertilized egg implants in the uterus. If the pregnancy test result is positive, it is not possible to be having a period. Light vaginal bleeding can sometimes happen in early pregnancy, but it is not considered a true period. If you have any questions about your vaginal bleeding, it is best to contact your healthcare provider.
