Can you find out if are pregnant 5 days after intercourse?

No. The earliest possible time to detect pregnancy is about 10 days after ovulation, which usually happens about 14 days after the first day of the last period. Fertilisation usually occurs within 24 hours of ovulation. This means that it would be virtually impossible to detect pregnancy only five days after intercourse. Most home pregnancy tests are not sensitive enough to detect the pregnancy hormone, human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), until at least 12 days after ovulation. However, some very sensitive tests may be able to detect hCG as early as 10 days after ovulation. Blood tests that can detect pregnancy even earlier are available at doctors' offices and some clinics.
