You are 18 weeks pregnant and cervix feels really hard is this normal?
In the meantime, here's some information about changes in the cervix during pregnancy:
Early pregnancy: The cervix is usually firm and closed during early pregnancy.
Mid-pregnancy: As the uterus grows and begins to push on the cervix, it may start to soften and open slightly. This is called the "effacement" of the cervix.
Late pregnancy: As the cervix prepares for labor, it will continue to soften and dilate (open) until it reaches a width of 10 centimeters, which is the diameter necessary for the baby to be born.
After birth: Following delivery, the cervix will gradually close and return to its original shape and firmness.
It's important to remember that every pregnancy is different, and what's normal for one person may not be for another. The best way to ensure your pregnancy is progressing normally is to see your doctor regularly for prenatal care.
