What does non viable pregnancy mean?
Non viable pregnancy, also known as non viable gestation, refers to a pregnancy in which the fetus is not able to survive. This can occur due to various factors, including genetic abnormalities, chromosomal disorders, uterine abnormalities, infections, or medical conditions affecting the health of the mother. In a non viable pregnancy, the fetus may miscarry spontaneously or it may require medical intervention, such as dilation and evacuation (D&E) , to remove the non viable tissue from the uterus. It's important for individuals experiencing a non viable pregnancy to receive counselling and support during this challenging experience.
