Can you take drotin during pregnancy?

Drotin (brand name for spironolactone), a potassium-sparing diuretic is contraindicated in pregnancy, especially during the second and third trimesters because fetal and neonatal adverse effects may lead to hypokalemia with hypovolemia, hypotension, azotemia, renal tubule dysgenesis resulting in renal impairment during childhood.
