Understand Prostate Problems
-
Acute prostatitis is not common, but, according to Mercer University School of Medicine, occurs in young men. This condition causes slight prostate enlargement, edema and acute inflammation. Sometimes there is rectal, perineal or lower back pain and fever. The same types of bacteria which cause urinary tract infections cause acute prostatitis. It is also caused by Neisseria gohorrheae.
Prostatic hyperplasia becomes more common as a man ages. Mercer University states that about one-fourth of men have some hyperplasia by the time they are 50. This condition is related to the accumulation of the hormone dihydrotestosterone in the prostate.
Prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia, or PIN, is a precancerous condition involving abnormal growth of the cells which line the prostate gland.
Atypical adenomatous hyperplasia, known as AAH, describes changes to the prostate gland which can only be detected with a microscope.
Any man who has signs of prostate problems should make an appointment with his medical professional for evaluation.
What is Cayenne Fruit?
-
Cayenne fruit is a member of the capsicum family, along with red peppers, bird peppers and African peppers. "Nutritional Herbology" by Mark Pederson lists cayenne pepper as an herb which affects the circulatory and digestive systems and acts as a stimulant. It is also a catalyst, used to increase effectiveness of other herbs in the formula. Because cayenne has stimulant and circulatory properties, it is also good for relieving inflammation throughout the body, including in the prostate.
