How to Inhibit Testosterone
Testosterone is a hormone in the body which can affect muscle mass, bone density, memory, body fat, sex drive, sperm count and red blood cell count, according to The Mayo Clinic. Between the ages of 30 and 40 years old, the body's natural ability to produce testosterone begins to decline. In addition to age, there are many other natural ways to inhibit the amount of testosterone the body produces.Things You'll Need

1
Altering your diet can have inhibiting affects on the amount of testosterone your body produces. A vegetarian diet causes a decrease in testosterone production. Protein and meat will allow the body to produce more testosterone because it stimulates the body's hormones which regulate the release of testosterone; by eliminating protein you will have the opposite effect. Good fats, such as omega-3 fatty acids, are also recommended to boost testosterone levels, so eliminating fats will also hinder testosterone production. Consume more carbohydrates and simple sugars which will elevate blood sugar and therefore have a negative effect on the amount of testosterone the body produces.

2
Do not exercise, or oppositely, over-exercise, to lower testosterone production. Either a lack of exercise or exercising for longer than 45 minutes at a time can cause the body's cortisol levels to increase, which causes natural testosterone production to decrease.

3
Fail to care for your body. Lack of good sleep, at least eight hours per night for adults, will cause your overall mental health to decrease allowing stress hormones, such as adrenaline and cortisol, to enter the body, hindering testosterone production. Likewise, stressful situations will have the same effect by releasing stress hormones.

Do not take vitamins as they help regulate natural bodily functions. People with adequate consumption of vitamins should expect to sleep better and have elevated testosterone levels.

5
Consume green tea, soy, herbs or steroids to inhibit testosterone production. Herbal supplements such as green tea, soy, or polyphenol, may inhibit the production of testosterone. Steroids will have long lasting negative effects on the body's ability to produce testosterone.
