How to Expand Frontal Hair Growth
Though frontal hair loss can be frustrating, you can do something about it. According to the Mayo Clinic, you're not alone. One-third of men and women struggle with hair loss. You could try prescription and over-the-counter drugs or even surgery. If you're looking for a less invasive approach, you could also try some at-home, more natural remedies.Instructions

Discuss medication options with your doctor. According to the Mayo Clinic, the medication Rogaine is approved for the treatment of hair loss, including frontal hair loss. It could take as many as 12 weeks for the new hair to grow, and the new hair resulting from the treatment could be thinner and shorter than the rest of your hair. Another option is Propecia. Propecia's website claims that there's not sufficient evidence that it will work for receding hairlines at the temple; however, it does work for frontal and mid-scalp regions. This medication is taken in pill form, and the Mayo Clinic says that users should expect hair loss to slow and even some new hair growth.

Use essential oils to spark new hair growth. Valerie Ann Worwood, author of "The Complete Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy" recommends adding a drop of Rosemary essential oil to a cold water rinse after washing your hair. Rub the affected area thoroughly. Don't rinse, as the Rosemary will also give your hair a nice shine. Cold water helps stimulate blood capillaries, which can help send nutrients to the affected area.

Implement changes to your diet. Make sure you're getting adequate amounts of protein. Also, iron-deficiency can contribute to hair loss, so consider taking an iron supplement if you're not get enough through diet alone.

Wash your hair every other day and use baby shampoo to avoid harsh chemicals. After washing your hair, lightly towel-dry it, but try not to rub too hard. Also, avoid using a hair dryer, and don't brush or comb your hair when it's wet, as this could cause it to stretch and break. If you do choose to blow dry your hair, make sure to use the lowest possible setting.

Think about surgical options. When other methods don't seem to work, the Mayo Clinic says that hair transplants and scalp reduction surgery are both options. During a hair transplant surgery, a dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon takes hair from the back of your head and implants it into the bald areas. During a scalp reduction, on the other hand, a surgeon decreases the bald skin on your head by removing it and stretching the hair-covered part of your scalp. Surgical treatments can be expensive and painful, though.
