Rashes From Electric Razors

In general, rashes are unpleasant, but rashes in highly visible areas like the neck and face tend to be the worst. Electric razor-associated rashes are a common ailment among men and are one of the drawbacks linked to using electric-powered razors. However, razor rash and razor burn do not have to be recurring annoyances. Instead, they can be treated and prevented if you're aware of their causes and symptoms.
  1. Causes of Razor Rash

    • Razor rash is commonly caused by applying too much pressure on the razor while shaving. Additionally, lack of lubrication can lead to razor rash. Irritated skin will not react well to razors and can instead cause itching and bumps. Other causes include using dull razors, long strokes and eczema.

    Razor Rash Symptoms

    • Razor rash symptoms include a raw and swollen face, raised welts, nicks, cuts, bumps and small pockets of pus. Additionally, an itchy, irritated face may also be a sign of razor rash.

    Prevention

    • To prevent razor rash, consider using a face scrub or exfoliator to remove dead skin. Allow warm water and steam to soften the skin and ensure that you use a sharp razor. Shave using short strokes in the direction of hair growth and moisturize after removing all shaving cream.
