Your parents dont have psoriasis why do you?

There are several reasons why you might have psoriasis even though your parents do not.

Genetics: Psoriasis is a genetic disease, but it is not always inherited in a straightforward manner. In most cases, psoriasis is caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors. While you may have inherited a genetic predisposition to psoriasis from your parents, it does not necessarily mean that they will also have the condition.

Environmental triggers: Certain environmental factors can trigger psoriasis in individuals who are genetically predisposed to the condition. These triggers may include stress, injury to the skin, infections, certain medications, and smoking. If you have been exposed to any of these triggers, it could have contributed to the development of your psoriasis even though your parents have not experienced the same triggers.

Immune system dysfunction: Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease, which means that it involves an abnormal response by the body's immune system. In individuals with psoriasis, the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy skin cells, leading to the development of psoriasis plaques. This immune system dysfunction can occur for a variety of reasons, including genetic factors and environmental triggers.

It is important to note that psoriasis is not contagious, so you did not "catch" it from your parents. It is a complex condition that can be influenced by a variety of genetic and environmental factors.
