Elderly men and women often need recreational activities to stay in good physical and mental health. There are recreational activities available to elderly men and women to suit almost any interest. Before starting any physical recreation, elderly men and women should see a doctor to determine how much activity is appropriate.-

Older persons who are in good physical and mental health can volunteer at hospitals, animal shelters or organizations. These type of volunteer activities not only make a difference in the lives of others, but also give an elderly individual a sense of purpose.
Old Favorites

Elderly can work on their favorite recreations to stay active and healthy. Old favorites might include interests such as gardening or fishing, or it might include games like bingo, cards or crossword puzzles. Reading, singing and cooking might even fall in the category of old favorites. For elderly men and women who have physical challenges preventing the old favorites, bringing it into their space can help as well. For example, bring in a potted plant so they can get to the plant and garden without going outside and working too much.
