What Autoimmune diseases affect the elderly more than younger people?
* Sjögren's syndrome. Sjogren's syndrome affects the glands that produce saliva and tears, especially in the elderly. * Vasculitis. This is a group of autoimmune diseases that cause inflammation of the blood vessels. There are many types of vasculitis, and they can affect different organs and tissues. Vasculitis is somewhat rare and may be more common in the elderly.
