How to Change the Tennis Balls on a Walker
Many elderly people, as well as the disabled or those recently ill, find that they have to often, or occasionally, use a walker to help them get safely from place to place. Often, these people, or those who help them, will place tennis balls at the feet of these walkers so that they can more easily slide the walker forward as the walk. Over time, these balls will become worn and need to be replaced. The process for doing this is relatively simple.Things You'll Need
- New tennis balls
- Knife

1
Turn the walker over and determine how may tennis balls you will need. Some walkers have wheels on two legs, so you will only need two tennis balls. Others have no wheels, so you will need four tennis balls.
-
2
Use a knife to cut small criss-crossed slits in the tennis balls. The holes should be just large enough that you can force the balls onto the legs of the walker, but not so large that they will easily slip off.
-
3
Grab the old tennis balls at the bottom of the walker and twist them slightly to loosen them. Pull them off.

4
Push the new tennis balls onto the walker legs. Stand the walker up and it should be ready to go.
