Treatment programs are available for women of all walks of life, including those who are pregnant, those who have children, and those who are separated from them. These programs give moms the resources to help themselves become better individuals and better parents.
  1. SHAR Women & Children Program

    • Self-Help Addiction Rehabilitation, Inc. (SHAR) has a Women and Children Program in Detroit. Treatment is initiated by a therapist who assesses each mother on her immediate needs. A realistic treatment plan is customized for each mother, which includes services by a licensed or certified clinician and the support of professional staff. Services available to mothers include parenting classes, daycare arrangements, training on domestic violence, and computer classes.

    Community Healing Centers

    • Community Healing Centers help mothers raise their self-esteem and self-value, offering resources and support groups for all women. Treatment programs are available in Kalamazoo, Sturgis and Three Rivers. Priority is for pregnant mothers and those with open Child Protective Service cases, but women from all walks of life are welcome. Support meetings are held weekly and touch on issues such as domestic violence and child abuse.

    Oakland Family Services

    • Oakland Family Services offers a treatment program called Project Recovery Intensive Services for Mothers (PRISM). PRISM provides treatment for current and expecting mothers, and teaches lifelong family skills in parenting, assists with educational and vocational needs, and offers support groups in domestic violence. Oakland Family Services has facilities in Pontiac, Rochester Hills, Berkeley and Walled Lake. Childcare services and transportation are also available.
