What Does a 10 Panel Drug Screen Consist Of?

A 10 panel drug screen is a type of urine-based drug screen that tests for the use of 10 illicit and prescription drugs. Approximately 95 percent of the abused drugs in use today are detectable from the 10 panel drug screen.
  1. What Drugs Will the Test Find?

    • The 10 panel drug test will provide results for marijuana, cocaine, PCP, opiates, methamphetamine, methadone, amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines and tricylic antidepressants

    Test Procedure

    • After obtaining a urine sample, remove the test kit from the sealed pouch and dip the testing wicks into the urine sample for 20 to 30 seconds. It is best to wait six to eight minutes to read the results, due to some of the drug results taking longer than others to develop.

    Reading the Results

    • On the face of the test, there are markers for each drug labeled C (control) and T (test). If a line appears beside each region, no matter how faint, the result is negative. A line beside the C only is a positive result. If there is no line next to the C, the test is invalid and must be retaken with a new test kit.

    Cost

    • The 10 panel drug screen may be purchased for use in packs of one, three, six, 12, 24, and 100. The price ranges from $22.99 for a single test, up to $950.00 for a pack of 100.

    Fun Fact

    • Once dry, the front and back of the test kit can be photocopied for a permanent record of the test results.
