How to Use the Avent Bottle Sterilizer

Keeping baby bottles clean and germ-free is a top priority for most parents. Babies are particularly sensitive to bacteria, which is why doctors recommend that baby bottles be cleaned with soapy water and then sterilized before they're used again. Avent is a baby product manufacturer that includes a sterilizer in its product lineup. Once you know how to use the sterilizer properly, you can set up the machine for sterilization in less than three minutes.

Instructions

    • 1

Rinse out the used bottle with soapy water, and scrub it with a bottle brush to clean off any caked-on milk or formula before sterilizing the bottle.

    • 2

Slide the central stem into the bottle basket. No tools are necessary to complete this step; the stem should slip right into the basket.

    • 3

Insert two of the screw rings onto the stem, and push them down until they rest on the bottle basket.

    • 4

Slide the bottle ring onto the central stem, and push it all the way down until it rests on the two screw rings.

    • 5

Place one nipple through each hole on the bottle ring so each nipple rests on the bottle rack.

    • 6

Insert three more screw rings onto the stem, and push them down until they rest on the bottle rings.

    • 7

Place one bottle through each hole on the bottle ring so that each bottle rests on top of the nipple, which is on the bottle rack. The mouth of each bottle should be pointing down so it rests on the bottle rack.

    • 8

Place one bottle cap on top of each bottle.

    • 9

Place the lid over the top of the Avent bottle sterilizer. Slide it into the grooves to close it securely.

    • 10

Plug the power cable into the wall and the other end into the power port located on the backside of the Avent bottle sterilizer.

    • 11

Press down the "Start" button located on the front of the sterilizer, and allow it finish the sterilizing cycle before removing and using the baby bottles.
