How to Cover-Up Baldness on Women

One of the unfortunate outcomes of aging is thinning hair, hair loss and sometimes baldness. No woman relishes the idea of losing her hair completely or at all, especially if her hair has been her crowning glory. Fluctuating and then diminishing hormones are often responsible for hair loss. If you do have thinning hair and don't plan on getting hair plugs or a hair transplant, there are ways to camouflage those bare patches of scalp.

Style your hair in a different manner. Part your hair on the left side, if you normally part it on the right or in the middle. Ask your hair dresser if she can recommend a new haircut that will make it less evident that your hair is thinning. There are tricks to making hair look thicker and your hairdresser will know them.

Use thickening and texturizing products that will give your existing hair a boost, and make it appear that you have more hair than you actually do. Turn your head upside-down, when blow drying. This adds volume to your hair. When you flip your hair back, you will see that this technique adds more fullness.

Consider wearing a wig, either a synthetic one or real hair, or hair pieces that aren't full coverage, but can give you some lift and additional hair in the areas where you need it.

Wear a hat or tie a cool looking scarf around your head and no one will realize that you are hiding hair loss. They will simply think you're chic.
