Look for light to heavy vaginal bleeding. Half of all women who experience bleeding during pregnancy will have a miscarriage, according to MomsWhoThink.com. Spotting is also cause for alarm and may be indicative of a miscarriage.

Pay attention to cramping and abdominal or pelvic pain, especially if it is followed by vaginal bleeding.

Be aware of sharp pains or lower backache. Severe pain in pregnancy may be a sign of miscarriage.

Look for a grayish discharge. The discharge of tissue or grayish matter may be indicative of a miscarriage.
