Stop using the Ortho Evra patch. However, this does not mean that you will immediately get pregnant after you stop using the patch. Your body may need time to adjust because of lingering effects of the contraceptive.

    • 2

Develop a healthy lifestyle. Maintain your weight, keep stress under control and watch your diet. Include exercise in your everyday routine to keep your body fit.

    • 3

Start taking prenatal vitamins before getting pregnant. Anne Douglas, author of “The Mother of All Pregnancy Books," recommends women take at least 0.4 mg of folic acid on a daily basis, one to two months before trying to conceive, and 0.6 mg daily once she gets pregnant.

Determine when you are most fertile. Approximate your time of ovulation. Ovulation is the release of the matured egg from the ovaries. This usually occurs around the 14th day from the first day of your menstrual cycle, but may differ among women. Use an ovulation test kit to determine your approximate day of ovulation.

    • 5

Have sex often, especially during your fertile periods. Consistent sex, about two to three times a week around the time of ovulation, increases your odds of getting pregnant.

    • 6

Consult a doctor to monitor and assess your health status. A doctor can help pinpoint changes in your lifestyle that will help you conceive faster.
