How to Wear Sanitary Pads

Sanitary pads, also known as menstrual or maxi pads, are soft, absorbent items used to contain a woman's menstrual flow. There are many different styles of pads available, including specialty pads for overnight wear and for use with thong underwear. If this is your first time, it's important to know how to correctly wear a sanitary pad.

  Remove the pad from the packaging. If it is individually wrapped, remove and discard the wrapper.

  Unfold the pad and remove the paper liner on the bottom.

  Press the pad, adhesive-side down, into the seat of your underwear. Make sure that it is centered. If your pad has "wings," remove the paper backing on each side and press the adhesive strips to the underside of your underwear.
