How to Kill Lice in a Softball Helmet
Head lice are insects that live in human hair and bite the scalp. This results in constant itching. Head lice are extremely contagious and can easily be spread through the sharing of sporting equipment such as softball helmets. After the players have been treated for head lice, the helmets must be treated.Things You'll Need
- Vacuum
- Garbage bags
- Trash can
- Aerosol lice killer

Vacuum the inside of the softball helmets with the hose attachment from a vacuum. Set the vacuum cleaner bag immediately in a plastic garbage bag and throw it in an outside trash can. This will get rid of some of the head lice.

Spray inside each helmet with an aerosol lice killer. This product can be purchased from any pharmacy. The spray is made for cars and furniture. The lice can survive for several days without a host, so this is an important disinfection step.

Set each helmet in a garbage bag. Seal the bag up and store it for 2 weeks. The head lice will not be able to survive this long or reproduce without a human host.
