How to Fold a Diva Cup
Traditionally speaking, most women use sanitary napkins, also known as pads, or tampons to absorb their flow during menstruation. However, newer products have come out onto the market to help a woman have more variety during her monthly cycle. One of these such products is a menstrual cup known as the DivaCup. Folding the cup for the first time can be intimidating, however, with practice, it can become second nature.Things You'll Need

1
Wash your hands with warm water and soap. Find a comfortable position, such as sitting on the toilet, to relax and begin folding the DivaCup.
-
2
Moisten the rim of the DivaCup with water or a non-petroleum-based personal lubricant. This is not necessary, but it helps with insertion. Press two sides of the cup together and then fold the cup in half. The cup should have a "U" shape at this point.

3
Relax and gently separate the labia and gently insert the cup into the vagina. Aim toward the spine and place the cup where it feels the most comfortable. To ensure that it is secure, run your fingers around the edging to make sure it has suctioned to the walls of the vagina.
-
4
Remove the cup by inserting two fingers into the vagina. Gently squeeze the cup to remove the suction and gently pull the cup itself out. The contents of the cup should not spill if the cup is removed smoothly. Empty the contents into the toilet, rinse the cup with bottled water and re-insert if still menstruating.
