Early Period Symptoms
Some women have regular periods and can predict when their period will arrive. Others find that their period shows up irregularly, and they aren't always prepared. Here's how to recognize the symptoms of your period before it arrives, so you're ready for it.-
Moodiness
-
As early as a week or two before your period arrives, you could experience increased irritability, rapid mood swings, or depression and anxiety.
Weight Gain
-
In the week leading up to your period, you might experience uncomfortable joint swelling, bloating of your abdominal area, and weight gain because of water weight.
Bowel Movements
-
In the week leading up to your period, you may experience constipation and less frequent urination, combined with a sudden lack of sexual interest.
Acne
-
You might experience heavy acne breakouts on your face, chest or back, and in some women, such breakouts are accompanied or preceded by hives.
Allergies
-
If you suffer from allergies or asthma, your allergic reactions or asthma attacks could worsen during the two weeks leading up to the start of your period.
Aches
-
Cramps or pain in your abdomen, thighs, breasts or lower back are the best indication that your period is about to arrive within a day or two. You might also suffer a sore throat, mild to severe headaches, or fainting spells.
