Side Effects of Climara Pro

Climara Pro is a prescription medicine that is used for the treatment of certain menopausal symptoms. It is used for women who produce insufficient estrogen (female hormone) levels since they have been through menopause. It also decreases menopause symptoms such as hot flashes (which is characterized by sweating and flushing). But Climara Pro also has several side effects.

Common Side Effects

• Some common side effects of Climara Pro are mild breast aches, irregular vaginal spotting or bleeding, stomach bloating, stomach cramps, nausea, throwing up, headache and mild loss of hair. These side effects usually go away soon after starting the medication (as the body adapts to it). However, if you find these side effects to be persistent, or if they intensify with time, you should notify your doctor.

Serious Side Effects

• Some serious side effects of Climara Pro also are possible. In cases of serious side effects, emergency medical attention is necessary. These side effects include coughing up blood, numbness or weakness of a leg or an arm, jaundice, abnormal vaginal discharge, odor or itching, slurred speech, chest pain, sudden shortness of breath, mood or mental changes (such as memory loss or extreme depression), tenderness, pain or swelling in the stomach, extreme headache or throwing up, speech or vision changes, breast ache, lumps on the breasts, the feet or the hands swelling, passing out, calf tenderness or pain and dizziness.

Allergic Reactions

• Serious allergic reactions are unlikely but can happen with Climara Pro. Some signs of serious allergic reaction to the medicine include chest heaviness, swelling of the face, tongue, mouth and lips, itchiness, hives, skin rash and problems breathing. All of these symptoms call for emergency medical assistance.

Warnings

• This medication is not appropriate for all women. Certain females are advised against using it, such as those who have undergone a hysterectomy, those with liver disease, those with abnormal vaginal bleeding, and those who have experienced blood clots, uterine or breast cancer, heart attack or stroke.

Overdose
