During pregnancy it is best that a woman exercise. This is done to keep up her strength for the big day as well as keep her and the baby healthy. There are many types of exercise to choose from to accomplish this. It is good to mix it up and do some of each in the beginning and reduce the more intense exercises when it gets closer to the due date.-

Low-impact aerobics keep the heart and lungs in shape and help with muscle tone. It should not affect the pregnancy if the low impact is observed. This means no running, jumping or other more aggressive exercises, and keep one foot on the ground at all times.
Yoga

Yoga is another exercise that is good to do during pregnancy. It helps the woman maintain muscle tone, works with balance, improves circulation, and is a way to stay limber. The breathing and relaxation techniques will also help during delivery to keep the mother calm.
Weights

Weight training is beneficial in keeping muscles toned and creates stamina. This comes in handy when delivery day arrives, since labor can last for hours. Weight training should never include heavy lifting. Keep lifting to a reasonable weight that does not strain.
