Menstruation Pain Relief
Women all over the world know the pain and misery that their menstrual cycle can cause. Cramping pain can be felt in the lower abdomen and in the back, and many times there is internal pain near the ovaries as well. The methods for treating this pain and their effectiveness vary from woman to woman, and it may take a few months to find what works for your particular menstrual pain.-
Heat
-
Heating pads and hot water bottles are common treatments for menstrual pain. Placed on the back or lower abdomen, the heat can relax those cramping muscles and soothe the area. A hot bath will often provide some relief as well.
Cold
-
Ice packs are sometimes used to treat menstrual pain. Cold offers an anesthetic quality that will help keep you from feeling each individual pang. By applying a cold pack to your abdominal area or lower back for 30 minutes you can relieve your menstrual pain for a little while.
Exercise
-
While many women feel lethargic and listless when menstruating, exercise can help relieve the cramping and pain. You do not need to engage in a full workout; just get up and get moving. A brisk walk around the block or a few minutes on a stair machine will leave you with less pain and more energy.
