1
Prepare a pot of boiling water on the stove. This is done by taking a large-sized pot, adding water about half-way in the put, and then placing it on a stove under medium to high heat. You can tell that a pot of water is boiling when it starts to bubble fiercely.
-
2
Wash your hands prior to handling the DivaCup.
-
3
Wash your DivaCup in warm water with a mild soap (such as Dove or Ivory). This will provide surface cleansing to the Diva Cup and will remove any blood or other staining.
-
4
Take the DivaCup and place it in the pot of boiling water after it has been washed.
-
5
Set a kitchen timer for 20 minutes. This will be the amount of time that your DivaCup will be left in the pot of boiling water.
-
6
Check frequently on the Diva Cup in the boiling pot of water, ensuring that it is not boiling dry (losing water). You never want to leave a pot of boiling water unattended.
-
7
Remove the DivaCup when the timer goes off.
-
8
Place the DivaCup in an area that will allow for air flow to dry it. You may place the DivaCup in cotton drawstring pouch that came with it to protect the newly cleansed DivaCup from dust or dirt.
