Symptom of Ovarian Cysts
According to the Mayo Clinic, some women with ovarian cysts may never have any symptoms. Those who do experience symptoms may not suspect they have ovarian cysts because many of these symptoms are similar or identical to the symptoms of endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, ovarian cancer and ectopic pregnancy. Diverticulitis and appendicitis may often mimic symptoms of an ovarian cyst that has ruptured.-
Menstrual
-
Your menstrual cycle may show severe irregularities if you have an ovarian cyst. This may include a longer or shorter menstrual cycle, heavier or lighter periods, sever pain during menstruation or even an absent menstruation cycle.
Pelvic
-
You may experience pelvic pain as a dull ache that may spread to your lower back or thighs. This pain may be present immediately before your period begins or immediately before it ends. Dyspareunia, or pelvic pain during intercourse, could also be a warning sign of ovarian cysts.
Bowels and Bladder
-
Experiencing pain during a bowel movement or a feeling of extreme pressure on your bowels is also a symptom of ovarian cysts. You may experience the feeling of pressure on your rectum or bladder and have difficulty completely emptying your bladder.
Nausea
-
Some women report having symptoms that are similar to symptoms during pregnancy including nausea, vomiting and breast tenderness.
Other Symptoms
-
Abdominal pain with fever and vomiting, sudden and severe abdominal or pelvic pain, rapid breathing, faintness, dizziness, weakness and weight gain are all symptoms of ovarian cysts.
