    • 1

Using a calendar, note the first day of your menstrual period. This will be the day when you first see blood. Most people experience this bleeding and/or spotting for four to seven days.

    • 2

Using the day you marked as the first day of your period, count forward 14 days on the calendar. This is your estimated time of ovulation. Ovulation is when an egg is released by an ovary into the Fallopian tube. A woman with a normally functioning reproductive system can become pregnant during this time.

To find out when your next period should begin, refer to the first day of your period. Count forward 28 days. This is your estimated start date for your next period.
