Side Effects of an Endometrial Biopsy

Cramping

One of the most common side effects from an endometrial biopsy is a certain amount of cramping. Most of the time, the cramping will cease soon after the procedure has been performed.
Spasm

You may also notice uterine spasms. Much like the cramping, this should subside soon after the procedure has been performed.
Dizziness

Some women experience slight dizziness or light-headedness from the procedure.
Fainting

Another possible side effect that some women suffer is periodic episodes of fainting. This is considered a vasovagal reaction to the procedure, due to a slight slowing of the heart.
Bleeding

On occasion, an endometrial biopsy may cause some level of uterine bleeding.
