You've spent a long, tiring day working at the office or taking care of the kids and all you want to do is slide between the sheets of your comfortable bed and close your eyes. Unfortunately, you have an important evening event to attend and you want to look and feel your best. What's a quick way to zap that fatigue and revive yourself for the task ahead? An energizing bath, of course!

If you don't have time to take a nap before the big event, an energizing bath is a quick way to revitalize your mind and body. The key is to bathe yourself in a sea of energizing fragrance you've created by adding essential oils to the tub. You can then lie back and breathe in the essence of the energizing essential oils. You'll be amazed at how the right scents can give you renewed energy.

To prepare for your energizing bath, visit your local health food store or health food market to purchase the necessary essential oils. Four essential oils that are known to be particularly energizing are peppermint, lemongrass, rosemary, and grapefruit. Buy any or all of these to keep on hand at home for when you need a burst of energy. Sometimes just opening the bottle and breathing in the fragrance can help you wake up when you're feeling tired.

When you're ready to take your energizing bath, gather some soft fluffy towels and head to the bathtub with your energizing essential oils in hand. Draw the bath water to a height that's comfortable for you. Use a dropper to add seven drops of your chosen essential oil to the bath water. Use a single energizing essential oil or any combination of the four that pleases you. Always add the essential oils to the water after you've filled the tub since the oils can evaporate quickly. Before sliding into the sea of energizing water, turn on some lively music to further invigorate you. As you relax in your fragrant, energizing bath, breathe in the fresh scent and feell yourself come to life.

Once you climb out of the bathtub and dry yourself with your soft bath towels, head to the kitchen. Eat a high protein snack such as an egg, peanut butter on whole grains crackers, or a cup of yogurt without sugar added to further boost your energy level. Avoid simple carbohydrates or sugars which can cause blood sugar fluctuations that will make your feel even more tired.

Now that you've had your energizing bath and a protein snack, you should feel rested and ready to go. Enjoy the evening!
