Start eating soy foods or drinking soy milk. Soy products actually help get rid of hot flashes.

Get rid of stress through exercise, yoga or daily Bible readings. Stress intensifies hot flashes, so by eliminating stress, you can decrease the number of hot flashes you have as well as how long the hot flashes last.

Take an estrogen supplement. You can get these at many pharmacies or health stores. When your estrogen levels are where they are supposed to be, then you won't be experiencing hot flashes very often.

Keep cool. This will help keep you comfortable during a hot flash. Make sure you wear cotton, loose-fitting clothing. Use a fan or air conditioner to keep cool in the summer.

Vitamin E is known for reducing the number of hot flashes a person has. You will need to take it twice per day if your doctor permits. Vitamin E can thin your blood, so secure your doctor's permission before taking it.
