How to Wrap Thick Hair
With rich body and plenty of volume, thick hair allows for a bounty of styling options. Whereas women with thin hair may have limited styling choices, thick hair allows for more freedom. You can wear it down for a full-bodied, natural look or sweep it up into an intricate braid. The wrap is a popular styling choice, as it affords a classically elegant look that doesn't require much work. It works particularly well at controlling thick hair, and is relatively easy to do.Things You'll Need

1
Wash your hair with a straightening shampoo. This will help to remove some of the volume from your hair and make it more manageable to wrap.
-
2
Use a leave-in conditioner on your hair. Conditioner helps to weigh hair down slightly, making it more likely to remain in the wrap. You may also wish to use a deep conditioner on your hair beforehand to nourish it.
-
3
Apply a setting lotion to your hair. This works particularly well on ethnic hair, and prevents flyaway hairs from escaping the wrap.
-
4
Comb your damp hair out so it is free of tangles.
-
5
Part your hair from left to right, separating the hair on the top half of your head from the back half.
-
6
Start at the top half of your hair and being brushing it clockwise. You'll essentially be creating a spiral with your hair.
-
7
Affix hair clips or bobby pins as you go to keep errant hairs in place.
-
8
Continue to the back half of your half, combing your hair in the same clockwise direction. If hair has difficulty remaining in place, as thick hair tends to, apply a bit more setting lotion to it.
-
9
Place a hair wrap over your hair once you have finished the wrapping process.
-
10
Dry your hair completely. You can either sit under a professional hair dryer or use a blow dryer all over your head.
