How to Cure Menopause Symptoms
Menopause is a part of the female biological process. It is the period when cessation of menstruation and fertility occurs. This process is not an illness but it does have symptoms brought about by changes in the levels of female hormones--estrogen and progesterone. Manifestations of menopausal symptoms vary from one woman to another and usually take place between women aged 48 to 55 years. Some common symptoms of menopause include irregular periods, vaginal dryness, hot flashes, mood changes, sleeping problems and memory problems.Things You'll Need

1
Set a schedule for your hormonal therapy. This is by far the most effective cure for relieving menopausal symptoms and also protects you from heart diseases and osteoporosis. Hormonal therapy is administered to supply the body with female hormones (estrogen and progesterone) that tends to decrease in level during menopause. The therapy is applied during and after menopause and may supply your body with estrogen alone or estrogen combined with progesterone (combination therapy). The doctor usually provides you with low doses of estrogen and progesterone hormones to help relieve your symptoms.

Regulate your irregular menstruation. Women who are suffering from irregular menstruation in their late 40's and mid 50's are usually on the verge of experiencing menopause. Doctors often prescribe them with oral contraceptive pills to help control irregular menstruation, and to provide contraception and relieve other menopausal symptoms.

Apply some potent agents to ease your vaginal problems. Estrogen helps in keeping your tissues healthy by maintaining its normal level of acidity. When menopause occurs, estrogen levels will drop, leading to some vaginal issues. Your doctor may provide vaginal estrogen prescriptions in the form of tablets, cream or a ring. When you apply these agents, it will emit small amounts of estrogen, which will then be absorbed by your tissues and mitigate vaginal dryness and discomfort during intercourse.

Treat your hot flashes with some effective medications. Drugs that fall in the category of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and other related medications are proven to be effective in alleviating hot flashes among many women during menopause. Examples of those drugs are low doses of antidepressant venlafaxine (Effexor), paroxetine (Paxil), fluoxetine (Prozac), sertraline (Zoloft) and citalopram (Celexa). Other types of medications that are effective in treating hot flashes are seizure medication gabapentin (Neurontin) and medications for high blood pressure such as clonidine (Catapres) which can come in the form of a pill or a patch.
