DIY: Homemade Toner Powders

Keeping one’s skin healthy requires more than a daily washing. You can make your own toner to apply to the skin to keep it looking supple. The powder-like toner you will make at home will not have any of the preservatives or other man-made ingredients that are found in commercial products. Buy supplies from a homeopathic store or by careful selection in a drugstore.

Place a glass bowl on a kitchen countertop. Add 1 tbsp. of dried lavender and 1 tbsp. of lemon balm to the bowl.

    • 5

Pour 2/3 cup of whole milk in a pot. Place on a stove top at medium heat. Remove the pot at the first indication of a bubble appearing in the milk. Turn off the burner.

    • 6

Pour the milk into the bowl. Stir for three minutes. Place a sheet of paper towel over the bowl. Leave for an hour.

Place another glass bowl on the countertop. Cover with a sheet of cheesecloth. Remove the paper towel from the bowl containing your mixture.

    • 8

Upend the bowl that has the mixture in it over the cheesecloth. Let the mixture drip out of the bowl and filter through the cheesecloth. Soak the empty bowl in hot water.
