How to Make a Pessary

Some people prefer to rely on natural herbal remedies instead of taking prescription drugs. While parsley is most often used in cooking recipes and as a garnish, it can also benefit women's health. When a woman has missed a menstrual cycle and is not pregnant, she can create her own parsley pessary to help bring on her period and restart her cycle naturally.

Instructions

    • 1

Separate three or four sprigs of parsley from the stems as close to the bottom leaf as possible.

    • 2

Wash the sprigs of parsley thoroughly with water to remove any pesticides, dirt or bugs.

    • 3

Insert the sprigs of parsley into the vagina, placing them as close to the cervix as possible. It may feel uncomfortable at first, but the sprigs will soften so you no longer feel them.

    • 4

Leave the sprigs in place for 12 hours before changing them.

    • 5

Use your fingers to scoop the sprigs from your vagina, check for bleeding and insert fresh sprigs if your period has not begun.
