Is Dr. phill really a doctor?

Phil McGraw, known as Dr. Phil, is not a medical doctor (MD) and does not hold a doctorate degree in medicine or psychological practice. He has a doctorate degree in clinical psychology (PhD), which he obtained from North Texas State University in 1979.
