Residential Treatment Centers for Teens
The teen years can be a tough time, and some teens struggle more than others. It is not uncommon for drugs, alcohol and other issues to temporarily sideline a teen while he or she develops the skills necessary to make good decisions and reject harmful influences. If needed, residential treatment centers for teens are available to treat teen substance abuse and other issues.-
New Haven ( Utah)
-
New Haven has two locations in Utah to serve the needs of troubled teen girls. Its residential program offers counseling and comfortable accommodations while girls receive guidance and counseling from New Haven staff. New Haven has treated girls suffering from: emotional, physical and verbal abuse; substance abuse; eating disorders; and traumatic experiences. The New Haven regimen is family-focused and places heavy emphasis on love and acceptance as major parts of the treatment process. It is also values-based and multi-systemic, meaning that all aspects of the teen's life are addressed during treatment with an eye to developing stronger values and better decision-making skills.
Visions Adolescent Treatment Center (California)
-
Visions is located in Malibu, Calif., and treats teens ages 13 to 18 with drug, alcohol and psychiatric problems. The center also treats teens with more than one diagnosed problem. Visions provides comfortable accommodations; teens have just one roommate and stay in a secluded ranch-like home. Teens undergo addiction assessment and a myriad of tests to determine the presence of other problems and the severity of existing problems. Teens receive counseling both individually and in groups. Visions also mandates family therapy as an integral part of recovery and expects every family to participate. Following treatment, all teens receive a personalized discharge plan for continuing care and guidance.
Sequel TSI (Alabama, Florida, Idaho and Indiana)
-
Sequel TSI offers teen residential treatment programs for a variety of behavioral and emotional problems in four different states and 11 different locations. The center offers two options for residential treatment: boarding school, where students in ninth through 12th grades receive college preparatory instruction in addition to therapy, counseling and guidance; and an outdoor therapeutic program in which students live in a wilderness area with mountains and rivers and attend school at a nearby private college preparatory institution. Both programs offer plenty of personal attention and an emphasis on creating a fully positive environment for teens.
Aspen Ranch (Utah)
-
Troubled teens at Aspen Ranch suffer from psychiatric issues, substance addiction, emotional problems, family conflict and other difficulties. The residential program is coeducational and set in a secluded rural area less than four hours from Salt Lake City. While in the program, teens enjoy a supportive environment and therapeutic activities. Aspen Ranch offers counseling and guidance along with its equine therapy program, wherein students work with horses to learn life skills, and participate in team-building exercises, therapy and experiential learning.
