Schedule an appointment to visit the assisted living residence. The representative or agent will give you further information about all that is included within their package. This may include a nurse call system, medication management, transportation for daily activities and doctor's appointments, personal care and housekeeping.

Fill out the application for the assisted living facility. You will need to fill out all required information such as medical, personal, physicians, list of family members, income assets and the method of payment.

Choose your method of payment. You can choose to pay through your Social Security, private pay, your private insurance company, state Medicaid insurance, Enhanced Residential Care (community Medicaid) or another means of payment. Once you have chosen your method of payment, give your application to the representative to complete the application process and you're done.
