Hospital Bed Installation

If you ever need to purchase a hospital bed, you may responsible for installing it. Most beds are designed so they can be assembled in a few minutes. Usually, there is some sort of technical help available by phone if you have a problem.
  1. Bed Spring Section

    • The spring section of the bed usually comes in two big sections. Place the sections on their sides and connect them at their center-mounting latch. You may need to connect the bed springs together using spring links to form one continuous surface that will support the mattress.

    Head and Footboard

    • Depending on the model, the headboard and footboard may be interchangeable. Attach the wheels to the bottom of these pieces, as this is how you will move the bed around. You will attach the headboard and footboard to spring rivets located on the bed spring section of the bed.

    The Motor

    • The motor controls the bed's functions. Most bed motors just snap into place over cams located on the bed frame. Just place the bed on its side and snap on the motor. The motor will have labels marked Head and Foot so you install it in the correct position. Once you get the motor on, plug the bed in and test the settings.
