Check the battery charge if the Pronto M61 demonstrates limited driving distance. The battery charge indicator light is located on the joystick control mount. Charge the battery overnight or for at least 8 hours between uses.

Engage the motor release levers if the Pronto M61 will not drive. The motor release levers are located near the rear tires. The power wheelchair will also refuse to drive if the battery is charging. Unplug the charger if it is in use.

Inspect the battery terminals for corrosion if the Pronto M61 fails to respond to commands. Corrosion on the battery terminals can impede electrical connections and prevent the power wheelchair from operating. Use a wire brush to remove corrosion from the terminals.
