How to File a Complaint Against a Caseworker in Indiana

Caseworkers in Indiana provide different services to clients. They are often employed by the Family and Social Services Administration through the state. Some caseworkers work for private companies, in schools or at hospitals. To file a complaint against your caseworker in Indiana, you will need to know her employer. Although it is not necessary to be licensed in order to be a caseworker in Indiana, some caseworkers may be. A licensing board will investigate any complaints made.

Instructions

    • 1

Write down your complaint. To file a formal complaint in most cases, you will need it in writing. Include names, dates and places. Include your address and phone number in case someone needs to contact you. Writing things down in detail will also help you remember what happened.

    • 2

Visit the agency where your caseworker is employed. Ask the receptionist for a grievance form. If they do not have a formal grievance procedure, provide a copy of your complaint and ask that it goes to your caseworker's supervisor. Make sure to keep a copy for your records.

Call the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration Office, or FSSA, at 1-800-622-4932. Even if your caseworker does not work for the state, the FSSA will be able to provide you with assistance in some cases.
